Sega to Publish Dead Or Alive 5

Just yesterday, SEGA and Tecmo Koei Europe have announced a new partnership for Dead or Alive 5, in which the former will handle the publication and distribution of the game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and as part of the agreement will include Virtua Fighter’s Akira Yuki as an exclusive addition to the DOA5 character roster.

Isn't Tecmo Koei a game publisher itself? I'm kinda confused.

Tecmo Koei is a game publisher. However, Tecmo Koei Europe has signed an agreement with Sega, Stating that Sega will be in control of DOA5 in Europe, where as Tecmo Koei will be in control of DOA5 in the US and in Japan. I hope this makes sense.

ok than so this partnerships only effects EU i guess i was wrong than because i thought it will effect EU, US and Japan.

TECMO should add Ulala from Space Channel 5 to the DoA5 roster. naah, I´m jokin but it´s really cool that they work together with Sega. =) Akira looks awesome!

I am very sure that DOA5 will be a good competitive game but I really do hope that sega does a good job on selling the game and to support the game.

The only thing I care about is the game plays well! Gameplay wise I hope it's challenging, fun, rewarding, responsive, looks great, sounds great and online mode is well made aswell! As for offline tournaments I hope it's worthy of becoming a competitive fighter, but for me it's not the most important aspect. The game will become a competitive fighter if the gameplay is high level and takes skills to learn and win!

In the end of the day Team Ninja want their sales as high as possible for the game and let's be honest it is the casual games who are their biggest target group because there are more of them then hardcore fans. Team Ninja is also trying to give something to their loyal fans by making it rewarding for us gameplay wise, something that casuals doesn't notice!

SEGA is the puplisher of DoA5 - good! So there is room for a Space Channel 5 Part 2 costume for Lei Fang!!

That is a really cool idea and that would be awesome if they did give lei fang a space Handel 5 costume. I would love it they gave Hitomi a Gum costume from Jet Set Radio.
