This one incident does not reflect how the majority of us gamers think and behave, and it shouldn't affect the community in anyway, besides making it stronger.
But it has helped to raise serious questions about how gaming events are setup and managed
Who's fault is it really?
The event organiser, aka Capcom
There are countless jerks and idiots on the planet, Aris was acting like one on Cross Assault, but Capcom and the guys there on the day should have stepped in to keep things in check; they didn't.
Rev and everyone worried about how this incident will affect the fighting game community as a whole:
dont worry, I dont think it will. Atleast not in a negative way.
Capcom, Aris, and all the PR people responsible for the event might apologise, but the real gains from this will be that fighting game event organisers (particularly the big ones run by Capcom, Namco, etc) will be much better managed with more security and steps to prevent this kind of thing ever happening again
Aris has tarnished his own reputation, he got what he deserved
