| welll,
good player in my eyes overturn these match-ups,
a good player makes little mistakes and give little chance for the opposite number to do something useful,
what i meant was that the character stats are important, however the player using him/her is more important, people control the character, the stats....are nothing but a number to me

In MK, a good Kitana player doesn't really have much of a hope against an equally skilled Kenshi. Unless you really outplay your opponent, you're going to lose. DOA4 felt like every fight was even because you essentially just guess/counter out of any bad situation. If that's gone in DOA5, you might notice that certain match ups feel significantly worse than others. The person in control of the character is important as well though, I do agree with you on that.

The person in control of the character is important as well though, I do agree with you on that. Basically what AW said. In the vast majority of fighting games, matchups are very important. They're more than a number. What it basically shows is that, for example, if I were to play My Zelda against your Falco, and as players, we were of completely on par, equal skill. Your Falco would win. Like I've said before, I constantly lose to ninjas. I am 100% better than them. They can't even do a single juggle, but because of my matchup, I lose. I think it's important that TN sees these things as well, as it's a good opportunity for them to tweak things, to try and make matchups as fair as possible.

| Did anyone else notice that Hitomi seems to get 'more damaged' then any of the other characters? I beat the heck out of Ayane and was up 4 rounds to 0, and all Ayane had was a bruise on her arm while Hitomi looked like she'd been through hell. I'll post a picture of what I mean later on since I'm doing some video editing on a new combo video I'm working on - maybe it's just that she's in a white tank top while the others are all more dressed? | |

Yeah, she does tend to get more messy then the other characters. Maybe because she is wearing a white shirt/green jumper and the rest are wearing slightly darker costumes.

True, but then why is it in Ayane's second costumes where her arms are exposed, they always look clean while Hitomi's get scrapped/cut/bruised? - WydrA wrote:

Doesn't even have to be Ayane at this point, I'll take anyone.
